About Me

My name’s Daniel and I’m a college teacher and a writer. I hold a PhD in English from Purdue University, where I studied automated language technologies, writing and educational assessment, technical communication, and public rhetoric. This website houses my inconsistently updated blog, where I write about education, literacy research, policy, teaching, and sometimes post ruminative personal essays.

I currently teach courses in rhetoric, composition, and science and technical communication. You can find sample classroom materials in the teaching section and more about my scholarship in the research section.

If you’d like to chat, collaborate, or let me write for or pitch you, please email me at daniel.ernst89@gmail.com.
